Depart Vancouver International (YVR). Domestic and US preclearance flows differ — arrive early if you are connecting from a US flight the same day.
Arrive Toronto Pearson (YYZ). UP Express is the default downtown link; Terminal 1 vs 3 depends on your airline. For a same-night downtown dinner, build buffer for immigration is not required on domestic arrivals, but baggage belts and UP Express queues still eat time.

January after New Year, late April–May and October often soften CAD fares outside holiday clusters. Summer long weekends and December are the opposite.
